It is primarily, but not exclusively, for blind and partially sighted people from the area covered by its sister organisation, the Radlett, Elstree, Borehamwood and Shenley Talking Newspaper that produces a weekly recording of local news and magazine articles.
The VIC runs weekly on Friday afternoons at Maxwell Park Community Centre, Maxwell Road in Borehamwood.
The club’s programme of activities includes:
a) cards, Scrabble, dominoes, cake decorating and music activities;
b) stick ball, table tennis, skittles, carpet bowls, Boccia, and New Age Kurling.
The expected age range is 20 years and upwards and the club has a good age balance with a 21 year old talking to and playing with a 90 year old.
